Jean-Baptiste Tarkwa is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Geology and Mining Engineering of the University of Ngaoundere, Cameroon.
Tarkwa focuses on the global challenge of the water-energy nexus, feeding a growing world technology; reducing the impacts of industries on water resources; and developing sustainable wastewater reclamation technologies.
His research covers synthesis, structure, processing and applications of adsorbents, photocatalysts using analytical and measurement techniques. Recent research projects include biomass-based adsorbents development from agricultural waste; iron-based catalysts preparation from mining toxic waste; TiO2-based sunlight driven photocatalysts synthesis; and their applications for mitigate environmental issues. He is co-author of 13 research articles and reviews.
Research laboratories:
Applied Physical and Analytical Chemistry Laboratory, University of Yaoundé ;
Laboratory of Eco-Materials, Quality, Risk Analysis and Mining & Petroleum Environment (LEQAEM), EGEM, University of Ngaoundere.
